2019 School Supply Drive Benefitting the William S. Baer School

2019-09-05T14:37:42+00:00

Summer is nearing its end, and the kids are back in school.  Holding a special place in the hearts of our Waverly family is The William S. Baer School. The William S. Baer School is a Baltimore City Public School that has been serving special needs students for over 75 years. These students range in age from 3 to 21. Each has heart rendering disabilities some have more than one.  All are economically disadvantaged.

After learning that students were starting the school year with notebooks that were old and previously used, clothes that were poorly fitted, and lacking many of the most basic supplies; we decided that we could make a difference. And, one of those ways has been to support the students of Baer through an annual School Supply Drive which has been enthusiastically supported by our Associates, Colleagues, Friends, and Families. This year marks our 3rd year for the Annual Drive to help “The Baers” get another year off to a great start!

The William S. Baer School operates with the active support of a Partnership Board which includes many local business leaders and volunteers. The Board selflessly raises funds and supports programs intended to help with the challenges of the varying disabilities and needs of the students.  With each passing year, the children become more dependent on medical technology, more medically fragile and more economically disadvantaged than ever before. The needs of the students at Baer

Ginger Cove Assisted Living and Memory Care building — Annapolis, MD

As we enter the New Year, we are pleased to have successfully completed our twenty-sixth year in business.  During the year leading up to this milestone, we added talented new staff in both our Project Management and Accounting departments; launched a new software system which fully integrates accounting with project management and field operations; and, we broke ground on a $17.5 million dollar Assisted Living and Memory Care building for Ginger Cove, a life-care retirement community in Annapolis, Maryland.

This new facility will enable Ginger Cove to address the continuing and changing needs of its residents and to manage the progressive and debilitating effects of Alzheimer’s disease.   Given the use of the facility, CRGA Design, took careful consideration in not only the quality of finishes but the functionality of each area.

With management and staff that operate at the highest levels of integrity, Ginger Cove has been the premier life-care community in Annapolis since opening in 1988, with a commitment to quality, independence, dignity, and the security of its residents.

Celebrating 25-Years

2018-01-11T20:56:12+00:00

Dear Friends, Colleagues and Business Associates,

Ed Audy, Ed Brnich and I are writing to you on the 25th anniversary of the founding of our business. In 1993, the country was in the midst of the Savings and Loan crisis.  Some felt our endeavor overly risky.  Yet, and as with most things, catching a trend at the absolute top or bottom of a cycle tends more to be luck than timing.  Risk exists in everything worth doing.  And; doing nothing is seldom the best option.

Waverly Construction & Management Company started with the goal of providing big company sophistication on mid-sized projects; while creating honest working relationships with clients, subcontractors and vendors.  During the early days, we were blessed with the support of customers like Gingery Development Group and Top Shelf Development, both of whom remain customers these many years later.  We are proud to have constructed arguably the finest privately-owned ice arena in Maryland, beautiful office buildings, retail centers, warehouses, renovations and interior fit outs for some of the most important businesses in the region.  And while we pride ourselves on our general contracting and construction management capabilities, we are pleased with our skill in self-performing carpentry, drywall and ceilings.  In a time of increasing specialization, this expertise has been an important reminder of the foundation of what has become our industry; and that, is one of a builder.

On the European front, and within only a year of Waverly’s formation, we
